The Long Island Warriors, a not-for-profit recreational hockey program and team for military veterans, active military, and reserves, will be hosting a special hockey clinic for kids who want to up their sock skating game on Sunday, December 14, from 11 am – 1 pm at Long Island Children’s Museum.  The Warriors players will teach kids about stick handling and passing as they master wrist and slap shots on the LICM’s popular sock skating “ice.”  The clinic is FREE to ages three and up with Museum admission.
The popular Snowflake Sock Skating exhibit, in partnership with the New York Islanders, is a family-favorite part of LICM’s Winter programming that features a high-tech synthetic polymer surface that allows kids to enjoy all the thrill of ice skating, but without the runny noses or cold hands!  As part of this new partnership with the Islanders, the team logo will be displayed on the LICM “ice,” and kids will have a chance to win game tickets as part of special giveaways.  And now, thanks to the Warriors, they’ll be prepared for their own indoor hockey fun.
The museum is located at 11 Davis Avenue in Garden City.
