Liberty New York Water is hosting a virtual workshop to help customers learn how to identify and resolve common household leaks. The event is being held in recognition of Fix a Leak Week, a national initiative created by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and supported by WaterSense partners throughout the United States and Canada. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of repairing leaks in the home and help protect this natural resource.
Topics covered during the workshop will include how to identify leaks, easy maintenance and repairs, and when to call a professional.
“Each year, U.S. households lose more than 1 trillion gallons of water due to minor leaks in their plumbing,” said Shannen McDonald with Liberty’s conservation team. “That is enough water to supply 11 million households for the year. We want to be part of the solution and help our customers learn a few simple tricks to detect and remedy water loss. This helps protect one of our most precious resources, and it will help customers save money.”
Liberty invites all community members to join this informative webinar from the comfort of their homes, Tuesday, March 14, from 7-8 p.m. Participants will learn easy ways to prevent and detect leaks in their home. Register at https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/244858368914720342.
