Legislator Manuel Esteban Sr, Esq. At Suffolk County Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Suffolk County Legislator Manuel Esteban Sr, Esq.  along with Presiding Officer Kevin McCaffrey and several of his colleagues joined the County Executive, Office of Minority Affairs and Suffolk County Hispanic Advisory Board in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, the theme this year being “Hispanic’s Making a Positive Impact on American Society.”

The County honored five honorees:  Margarita Espada, Joshua Chan, Jessica Castro, the Latin Center of Hampton Bays, Jose Tutiven, and Anthony Zhongor-Guaman.

“Being Colombian and Cuban-American, in addition to being a Suffolk County Legislator, made taking part in this celebration even more special.  Learning about the honorees and how lucky Suffolk is to have these truly amazing people in their communities was very inspiring,” said Legislator Esteban.

Legislator Esteban is shown with honoree Margarita Espada, who is the founder and director of Teatro Experimental Yebabruja, Inc., an art organization with the mission to use the arts as a tool for social change.
