Legislator Koslow Honors Freeport School Board President Maria Jordan-Awalom At Women’s History Month Ceremony

Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) led the Minority Caucus in honoring Freeport School Board President Maria Jordan-Awalom as a 2024 Women’s History Month honoree during the Monday, March 25 meeting of the full Legislature. Legislator Koslow presented Jordan-Awalom with a bouquet of flowers following remarks highlighting her commitment to Freeport’s youth and her role as an inspirational community leader.

“Maria is a proud mom and a longtime Freeport resident. She has been a fierce advocate for educational equity, for youth empowerment, and for Black and Latino communities,” said Legislator Koslow. “Women everywhere can draw strength from her example.”
