Kids Need More, Long Island’s premier 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families, and young adults coping with cancer and life threatening illnesses, is proud to announce their 7th Annual HoLiDAY CHEER BUS Elf Ride taking place Sunday, December 19th, 2021.
For the seventh year in a row, KiDS NEED MoRE’s HoLiDAY CHEER BUS ELF RiDE’s 40 buses stocked with toy-delivering elves will drive directly to homes all over Long Island to make wishes come true for over 250 children coping with cancer and serious illness.
“We started this event with just one bus seven years ago, and are thrilled to see it grow year after year. We know that all parents feel the pressure to make the season magical for their children, but when families are stressed with medical visits, painful treatments, and financial burdens, taking part in holiday festivities can be overwhelming, notes Melissa Firmes, President, KiDS NEED MoRE. “We wanted to make the experience not only wonderful for the children, but also as a gift to the entire family, and a way for everyone to enjoy the holiday together.”
KiDS NEED MoRE is recruiting community partners for this year’s event to sponsor buses and collect toys, volunteers to bring joy and merriment, and seeking referrals of local families to gift.
From bus sponsorship to becoming an Elf yourself, there is something for everyone. Below are details from KiDS NEED MoRe on all the ways to participate this year:
BECOME AN ELF
Looking to do something special with your friends and family this season? Sign up to be an elf! We also welcome businesses to partner with us. It’s a wonderful workplace team building activity. You can collect toys and gifts, and then, on December 19th, 2021, join as a team and deliver the gifts, sing carols and spread joy all over Long Island with us! Buses leave from 600 Albany Avenue, Amityville and the Miller Place area.

YOU CAN BE A PART OF OUR FUN & HEARTWARMING HoLiDAY EVENT!
We know you have a LOT of choices on where you donate at this time of year, and we would LOVE a financial contribution, but there are other wonderful ways to participate because we want to offer as many ways possible to bring the holiday spirit to your home or business too. You can sponsor an elf or a whole CHEER BUS of elves, collect toys, or volunteer with us.
