Jazz Loft’s Sixth Annual Harbor Jazz Festival Returning Sept. 22-25

The Jazz Loft, located along the charming Stony Brook waterfront and nearby historic village, presents the Harbor Jazz Festival 2021, four celebratory days of jazz featuring internationally-known acts, including the Emmet Cohen Trio; the Sheryl Bailey Trio with Ada Rovatti and Joel Ross and Samara Joy with Immanuel Wilkins and more. The Jazz Festival is funded in part, from a Huntington Arts Council grant and by a Suffolk County Office of Culture and Film grant.

“The return of the Harbor Jazz Festival is a cause for much celebration as we recover from the worse of the pandemic,” said Jazz Loft founder Tom Manuel. “The talent line-up promises to deliver an extraordinary experience and unique opportunity to hear performances from some of the finest jazz artists in the world.”

The festival will kick off on Wednesday, September 22 with a jam session and reception for a new gallery installation at the Loft featuring the artwork of Vincent Quatroche, Sr.

The festival will take place both indoors in the Jazz Loft’s stunning performance space and on Saturday, September 25, on the Stony Brook Village Green overlooking Stony Brook Harbor. Attendees to all events will also have access to The Loft’s 6,000-square-foot museum, a treasure trove filled with over 10,000 jazz artifacts.

The Loft, which operates as a non-profit organization, was established in 2016 by Manuel, its founder, curator, jazz historian and artistic director. Manuel is also an artists in residence within the music department at SBU

The Jazz Loft is located at 275 Christian Avenue in Stony Brook, just 90 minutes from New York City and is the only music venue on Long Island that features exclusively jazz music. For more information call 631-751-1895. Tickets can be purchased at: https://www.thejazzloft.org.
