Jazz Loft Announces Summer Schedule of Concert Events Featuring Wine Tastings, Jam Sessions, Big Band Sounds & More!

Live music is back at the Jazz Loft so get out your social calendar. (Remember your social calendar?)

Indoor events are back at the Jazz Loft in Stony Brook, located at 275 Christian Avenue in Stony Brook, with an exciting schedule that includes wine tastings, jam sessions, big band sounds and afternoon concerts.

“I am so excited for the Jazz Loft to be opening after this lengthy shutdown,” said Jazz Loft founder Thomas Manuel. “Jam sessions and Young at Heart daytime concerts are back, and the Jazz Loft Big Band is ready to go. It’s a great feeling to see our calendar filling up more and more each day. I look forward to the Loft being filled with music and people.”

Wednesday, July 21-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The Loft’s weekly jam sessions are a traditional jazz jam in the purest sense. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and participate in the spirit of improvisation. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Thursday, July 22 – Long Island Wine Tasting – Sip some of the best wine from Long Island’s small, boutique vineyards! The Jazz Loft Trio presents a Brazilian Bossa Nova theme.

Wednesday, July 28-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Friday, July 30-7 p.m.-Vocalist Melanie Marod Ensemble, featuring John Marshall, saxophone, Jenn Hinkle, trombone, Peter Coco, bass, Darrell Smith, drums and more.

Saturday, July 31, 7 p.m.- Ray Anderson Duo Project, featuring Jazz fusionist trombonist Ray Anderson and Steve Salerno on guitar.

Wednesday, August 4 at 1 p.m.- The Young at Heart series begins with the music of Nat King Cole. The Jazz Loft’s “Young at Heart Series” is an opportunity for seniors to attend an afternoon jazz concert, with shows starting at 1 p.m. and ending about 2 p.m. for the discounted price of just $10.

Wednesday, August 4-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Thursday, August 5, 7 p.m.-The return of the Jazz Loft Big Band with a tribute to trumpeter, composer, arranger Michael Carubia.

Wednesday, August 11-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Wednesday, August 18-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Thursday, August 19, 7 p.m.-The Jazz Loft Big Band.

Friday, August 20, 7 p.m.- Ravi Coltrane Quartet.

Wednesday, August 25-Wednesday Night Jam Sessions, 7 p.m. The sessions are run by Jazz Loft Trio bassist Keenan Zach.

Friday, August 27, 7 p.m.- Dan Pugach Quartet featuring Grammy nominated vocalist Nicole Zuraitis.

Saturday, August 28, 7 p.m.-The Jazz at the Philharmonic All Stars tribute to Norman Granz.

Thursday, September 2, 7 p.m.-The Jazz Loft Big Band.
