Guest Speaker Is A Catch With Hiawatha Fifth Graders

New York Jets offensive lineman Greg Senat stepped off the field to visit the fifth grade at Hiawatha Elementary School in Sachem. Senat, a graduate of Elmont High School and former student of Hiawatha Principal Joseph Watson, spoke with students about making healthy choices and a day in the life of an NFL player.

New York Jets player Greg Senat visited the fifth grade at Hiawatha Elementary School.

Senat stressed the importance of taking school seriously, keeping positive people around you and persevering through tough times. He told students stories of his NFL draft experience and playing with the Kansas City Chiefs during their Super Bowl win in 2019. He went through his game-day routine and encouraged students to find routines in their everyday lives that work best for them.

Fifth graders asked Senat questions about how he got to play football professionally.

Throughout the visit, students were eager to ask questions and get a glimpse into an NFL player’s life. Senat was happy to take photos with students and sign autographs. The interactive visit inspired students to be the best versions of themselves and follow their dreams.
