Flag Football Team Receives Prize Worthy Of True Champions

In celebration of the Bellmore-Merrick Chargers capturing the first-ever Long Island championship for girls flag football, team members received a prize fit for a true victor on Aug. 22 – championship rings provided by the New York Jets. Additionally, the team was recognized prior to the start of Jets pre-season game, a fitting conclusion to a remarkable season for the team.

The Chargers were comprised of 23 females from across the district and were coached by Anthony Cracco and Matthew Moody. The team defeated Walt Whitman in early June to capture the inaugural championship for Jets X Nike High School Girls Flag Football League.

Once again, the district congratulates the Chargers on their terrific season and looks forward to the year ahead.
