As part of their science investigations, fifth graders at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School in the Copiague School District recently worked with electrical circuits for the “light it up” activity. The students had to apply scientific ideas to design, test and refine a circuit that transfers energy and converts it from one form to another using batteries and lightbulbs. After successfully getting their lightbulbs lit, they had to rearrange the circuit they created to make one bulb shine brighter than the others while all three bulbs were lit.
