East Islip Senior Alyssa Benvengo Signs For Field Hockey With Molloy University

East Islip High School senior Alyssa Benvengo recently signed a national letter of intent to play Division 2 field hockey next fall for Molloy University in Rockville Centre. She plans to major in psychology and criminal justice.

Benvengo, who plays forward, is a two-year varsity field hockey starter, helping her team to the Suffolk County finals in 2021 and earning the Unsung Hero award. A two-sport athlete, she also serves as captain of East Islip’s varsity softball team, where she has been a member for five years and a starter for three years. With the softball team, she won the county championship in 2021 and earned All-County and All-Tournament honors. Benvengo received Scholar-Athlete and High Minds in Motion distinction for both sports and is a member of East Islip’s National Honor Society.
