East Islip High School students and staff recently participated in the first Teacher and Student Connect Day as well as a fun spring pep rally. Teachers signed up for activities that they wanted to do with their classes. Some took place inside the classrooms, such as board games, puzzle competitions, retro games and karaoke, while outdoor activities in the high school’s athletic complex included cornhole, kickball, wiffleball, KanJam and sidewalk chalk drawing.
“With staff and our PTSA working together to help out, student government was able to put together an amazing day full of fun activities to strengthen the connection between teachers and their students,” special education teacher Kate Boucher said. “Both staff and students are looking forward to the next Teacher and Student Connect Day.”
