In honor of Veterans Day, and as a special thank you to our Veterans, Dental365 will once again be hosting our Free Dentistry for Veterans Day on Friday, November 11th from 9am-2pm.
More than 30 Dental365 and Premier Care Dental Management employees will be volunteering their time and skill in 6 locations in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Cleanings, x-rays, comprehensive examinations, and other same-day services will be offered. Veterans can call 1-877-759-6933 to schedule an appointment.
Founder and CEO of Dental365 and Premier Care Dental Management, Dr. Scott Asnis is no stranger to the veteran community—he began his over 30-year career with a residency at the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital in 1984, where he provided direct care to military veterans.
“After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, we are very fortunate to be able to provide free dentistry to veterans once again during our Free Day of Dentistry event.” says Dr. Asnis, “We are happy to be back and thrilled that our growth has allowed us the ability to reach more veterans than ever before.”
Of the 9 million veterans currently enrolled in the VA system, less than 15% are eligible for dental benefits. The VA is prohibited from providing dental care to veterans with less than a rating of 100% who have suffered dental trauma while performing military duties.
Senate Bill 3017, The Veterans Dental Care Eligibility Expansion and Enhancement Act is currently being proposed to provide additional access to dental care to veterans. If passed, dental services to VA-enrolled veterans will expand to those with service-connected disabilities rated at 30% or greater. In addition, the bill would increase access by expanding VA dental clinics in all 50 states over the next eight years and will also address a shortage of dentists by providing incentives to dental school students.
Dental care is an integral part of our veterans’ overall health. Inadequate dental health leads to gum disease, which is linked to an increased risk for a variety of health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s and more. Dental365 and Premier Care Dental Management are happy to provide dental services to veterans who have limited access to dental care this Veteran’s Day.
