Hofstra University hosted the Nassau Championships on Sunday, February 19. Farmingdale High School Varsity Cheer earned its second county title in the program’s five-year existence.
Dalers won the Nassau County Division 1 Small Schools championship weeks after performing at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Walt Disney World. There they competed against the best in the nation finishing as Small Varsity Division 1 semi-finalist and 11th in the Division 1 Medium Varsity Game Day.
“Our routine has had several upgrades since the start of the season,” coach Caitlin Beatrice said. “We’ve only been competing with this routine for about two months.”
A bright future awaits this young talented team as ten of Farmingdale’s 15 cheerleaders are freshmen.
The Competitive Cheerleading Championships are on March 4 at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton. Farmingdale last won the state title in 2020.
