Business law students at Sachem High School East recently went on a guided tour of the John P. Cohalan Jr. Court Complex in Central Islip. They received an overview of the Suffolk County court system and stepped inside a courtroom, viewed holding cells in between courtrooms and the Sheriff’s lock-up, and were personally addressed by the judge before arraignments began. Students then observed several arraignments and learned about bail reform throughout the process.
Students gained insight about the many career pathways available inside the courthouse, along with information about civil service exams.
