Copiague Students Honor Veterans For Veterans Day

For the first time since 2018, Copiague’s Great Neck Road Elementary School hosted its popular Veterans Day Breakfast on Nov. 10. Honored guests included members of the local V.F.W. and relatives of students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

For the first time since 2018, Copiague’s Great Neck Road Elementary School hosted its popular Veterans Day Breakfast on Nov. 10 where they honored members of the local V.F.W. and relatives of students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

During the ceremony, attendees were treated to performances and a video tribute. Performances included a patriotic kindergarten singalong, recitation of a poem by fifth graders and a musical tribute sung by the special Veterans Day chorus.

Members of Great Neck Road’s special Veterans Day chorus sang a medley of songs during the Veterans Day Breakfast.

As an added touch, members of the student council took photos with polaroid cameras of the veterans and put them in a frame as a special keepsake.

The Great Neck Road Student Council took polaroid photos of attendees during the school’s Veterans Day Breakfast.

“Today, the students and staff of the Great Neck Road Elementary School proudly honored the members of the United States Armed Forces for all they have done to make the United States of America the great country in the world,” Principal Tamika Eason stated.
