Prior to an alumni ceremony held prior to a recent league wrestling meet at Connetquot High School in December, the community, student-athletes, coaches, faculty and more than 60 former wrestlers honored Bohemia resident Peter Venier. For 40 years, Mr. Venier photographed student-athletes and donated prints of his work to students and their families.
Mr. Venier is a member of the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame and was then elected to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He also garnered the National Wrestling Photographer of the Year Award and was a recipient of the Grand Master Award by the Suffolk County Wrestling Coaches Association.
