During an elementary economics unit in second grade classrooms at Cherokee Street Elementary School, students learned how community helpers are paid. They also researched and completed a report about their choice of a community helper and dressed in costume as doctors, policemen, judges, firemen and more.
On a SmartBoard, teachers posed questions about various jobs and students were asked to guess the corresponding community helper. The students then shared their reports and discussed facts about their subjects prior to taking a group photo to commemorate the end of the unit.
