Today, flamingos, palm trees and beach balls decorate Long Island MacArthur Airport amidst holiday lights and music, as airport officials and passengers celebrate the inaugural flight of Breeze Airways’ newest nonstop destination– Vero Beach, FL (VRB).
Breeze Airways, the U.S.’ only NLCC, or ‘Nice Low-Cost Carrier,’ begins the new seasonal route today, which will operate Thursdays and Sundays through April 28, 2024, with fares starting at just $69* one way.
Vero Beach becomes Breeze’s eighth destination currently available from ISP, joining non-stop year-round service to Charleston, SC, and Norfolk, VA; seasonal service to Portland, ME, Raleigh-Durham, NC, and Richmond, VA; and one-stop/no plane change BreezeThru service to New Orleans, LA and Jacksonville, FL.
“We’re delighted to celebrate the holiday season with an exciting new destination. These new Breeze Airways nonstop flights to Vero Beach will bring family members together, make it easy for Long Islanders to take vacations for sun and fun, and bring visitors to Long Island,” said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “We know that Long Islanders want options like Vero Beach, and we’re working hard with Breeze Airways and all our air-carrier partners to bring more choices to Long Island travelers,” she added.
“Breeze has grown steadily from Long Island since we launched service to Charleston and Norfolk almost two years ago,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ Founder and CEO. “Thanks to the Town of Islip and the team at MacArthur Airport, Breeze has been welcomed into the community and now offers six nonstop and two direct destinations from Long Island. Long Islanders are going to love a seriously comfortable, seriously affordable and seriously nice winter Florida getaway to Vero Beach, one of Florida’s best-kept secrets,” he added.
“Just as we are currently upgrading our airport facilities to enhance our already excellent customer experience and efficient management of resources, Breeze Airways is upgrading the quality and quantity of destinations available to Long Islanders from MacArthur Airport,” said MacArthur Airport Aviation Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken. “They offer a truly nice customer experience onboard a beautiful new aircraft, all from Long Island’s comfortable, convenient, hometown airport,” she added.
Breeze Guests will enjoy all routes to and from Vero Beach onboard Breeze’s brand-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, featuring three unique seating options, including Breeze Ascent, a generous recliner-style seat in a 2×2 configuration with 39 inches of seat pitch, 20.5 inches of seat width and special amenities such as complimentary snacks, drinks and alcoholic beverages. Breeze offers its guests both bundled and a la carte options known as Nice, Nicer and Nicest.
Breeze Ascent is included in the Nicest bundle, or sold a la carte with Nice or Nicer. In addition to featuring best-in-class economics, the A220 operates at lower noise levels, providing an exceptionally quiet and comfortable cabin while being a good neighbor to nearby communities. Wide seats combined with ample overhead storage create personal space without compromising headroom.
Breeze doesn’t charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes prior to departure, and offers other benefits such as free family seating and a la carte pricing. With seamless booking, no change or cancellation fees, up to 24-months of reusable flight credit and customized flight features delivered via a sleek and simple App, Breeze makes it easy to buy and easy to fly.
