Bethpage High School students in Kathryn Oak’s Spanish class wrote encouraging emails to isolated COVID-19 patients in hospitals in Spain. The distance learning initiative hopes to combat the loneliness of isolation and show international support.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity for my students to use their skills to show compassion and international solidarity during the coronavirus crisis” said Mrs. Oak.
