New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso and Drug Free Long Island (DFLI), in partnership with the Village of Babylon, Suffolk County Presiding Officer Kevin McCaffrey, Senator Phil Boyle, and Senator Alexis Weik, will be holding a free Narcan Training on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Babylon Public Library. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The training will include an opiate informational presentation, overdose risk factors, recognizing and responding to an overdose, and administration of Naloxone (Narcan). Each registered participant will receive a free Narcan kit at the completion of the training.
Registration is required. To reserve your seat, please call DFLI at 516-639-2386 or email INFO@DRUGFREELI.ORG.
“I invite all community members to attend this free, life-saving program,” said Durso. “With the rise in deadly, illicit drugs disguised as candy pouring into our area, it’s imperative that everyone has the knowledge on how to recognize an overdose and safely administer Narcan.”
“It is important to attend a Narcan training whether you have someone battling a substance abuse disorder or not,” said Janice Talento, DFLI’s Chairman. “You never know when you may have to save a life of a person in on overdose state.”
