The Zeldin for Congress campaign today announced the creation of its small business coalition, “Small Business Owners for Zeldin,” highlighting the broad support that Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) has in the local small business community.
Congressman Zeldin has consistently delivered for Long Island’s small businesses, including his time in the New York State Senate where he successfully led the fight to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80% of employers. As a member of the Congressional Coronavirus Task Force, Congressman Zeldin helped establish the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and fund the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program for Long Island’s small businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. Congressman Zeldin also held multiple Tele-Town Halls during the pandemic with the Long Island Branch Manager of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and over 2,500 small businesses to discuss federal assistance available to local small businesses.
“Congressman Zeldin remains an amazing advocate for Long Island during this pandemic,” said Rocco Carriero of Rocco Carriero Wealth Partners. “He supported the Paycheck Protection Program which helped all businesses in the district and worked hard to get PPE to protect his constituents.”
“Without the support of Lee Zeldin our business would’ve fallen like many others,” said John Rose of Slices Pizza in Selden. “We owe everything to Congressman Zeldin in the local business community.”
“Congressman Zeldin is a true friend to Long Island Fisherman, boaters, and everyone involved in the marine industry,” said Captain Joe Tangel of King Cod Fishing. “From taking on major dredging and beach replenishment projects, to fighting for fair and equitable fishing regulations, Lee has always been there for us.”
“The business community has never had such one on one support from a congressman on a local level like Lee Zeldin has provided,” said Gene Cella of Cella Bagels in Selden. “Thank you Congressman Zeldin.”
“There are so many local businesses that wouldn’t have made it through the last six months without everything Lee Zeldin did for us,” said Donato Panico of Panico’s Community Market. “He’s got our backs, and we’re lucky to have him in Washington fighting for us.”
“Congressman Zeldin has been a tireless advocate for our small business community here on Long Island and especially on the East End,” said John Cannarelli of Nassau Suffolk Landscape & Architectural Design. “His work to repair Dune Road in Westhampton Beach has been crucial for my business and customers. Thank you, Lee.”
“Lee Zeldin understands how difficult it is to run a small business on Long Island,” stated Wayne Houck of Houck’s Fuel. “He knows how to help support us and help small businesses succeed.”
“Congressman Zeldin has done so much to support our small businesses here on Long Island. His work over the last six months to secure PPP and EIDL funding for struggling business owners and their employees during the pandemic has been incredible,” said Cris Damianos of Damianos Realty Group. “Lee is a true friend of our local business community and I’m proud to support him again.”
