On Thursday, July 9, members of the Nassau County Legislature’s Democratic Caucus attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Eisenhower Park’s new Sept. 11 Memorial. Participating in the event were Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D–Glen Cove), Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D–Freeport), and Legislators Scott M. Davis (D–Rockville Centre), Viviana L. Russell (D–Westbury), Carrié Solages (D–Valley Stream), Olena Nicks (D–Uniondale) and Cynthia Nuñez (D–Valley Stream).
The memorial will honor the lives lost and all those affected by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
