Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly Honors North Babylon Student Adrika Rahman With Citizenship Award

North Babylon High School Senior Adrika Rahman was recently honored by Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly
(D-Deer Park) for receiving the Citizenship Award at the school’s 2023 Senior Awards Night. The award is annually presented by Legislator Donnelly to a student who “gives of him or herself for the betterment of the school and/or the community.”

Ms. Rahman is a dedicated student who has balanced academics with volunteer service. She is President of VYBE/Zumba club and Historian of the Environmental Civics Action club. Additionally, Ms. Rahman has volunteered at local food pantries, beach cleanups and fundraisers. She learned that she was the recipient of the award during the high school’s senior awards ceremony on Thursday, June 8 where Legislator Donnelly presented her with a County Proclamation.

“It is a pleasure to recognize Ms. Rahman, a role model for her peers, who demonstrates the qualities associated with being an outstanding citizen,” said Legislator Donnelly. “She more than embodies the spirit of the award, and I know that she has a very bright future. I wish her the best.”
