Ward Melville High School student Sarina Policastro won the top award in the state in the New York State PTA Reflections Program. The program encouraged students to show their artistic interpretation of this year’s theme, “Show Your Voice” in six art categories. Policastro received the Award of Excellence in the senior division of the film production category for her animation, “Amira’s Letters.”

Policastro was one of only 30 students in New York to receive the Award of Excellence. She moves on to the national level of judging with winners being announced in May.
