Bellew Elementary School in the West Islip School District had a chance to test their knowledge as they went head to head in the school’s Geography Bee on Feb. 15. Fifteen students went through seven preliminary rounds and three final rounds in different categories to answer questions about people, places and cities across the world. All participants received a certificate, and the winners received a medal and National Geographic book. This year’s winners were fifth grader William Siegmann in first place, fifth grader James Peleg in second place and fourth grader Jordan Harrington in third place.
