Lidl US announced it will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony with local officials at the site of its future Deer Park, New York, store, located at 450 Commack Road, Deer Park, New York 11729. The groundbreaking ceremony, starting at 11 a.m., will celebrate the kickoff of construction for Lidl’s first ground up build on Long Island. A food reception will take place after the ceremony to allow the opportunity to try some of Lidl’s high quality products.
Lidl is investing more than $15 million in the new store. Lidl Deer Park is projected to open in Winter 2023.
The store will create 60 jobs once it opens, with starting pay starting at $17.50 an hour, including benefits such as healthcare.
The groundbreaking ceremony will also be attended by John Theissen and Lauren Rochelle. Lidl partnered with Lauren Rochelle to create a limited-edition reusable bag that will launch in stores on May 4. All proceeds from the while-supplies-last bag will be donated to John Theissen Children’s Foundation (JTCF). Lidl has been a proud partner of JTCF since 2019.
