Trish Bergin Sworn In As Suffolk County’s New Legislator In The 10th LD

Trish Bergin was sworn in to serve her first term as Suffolk County Legislator in the 10th LD.  Bergin will Chair the Seniors & Human Services Committee. “Our Seniors are struggling to stay on Long Island with their children to watch their grandchildren grow.  During my time in Islip Town, I saw to it that our Meals on Wheels program doubled capacity during difficult times,” says Bergin.  She will also serve as Vice Chair on the Gov’t Operations, Personnel Information Tech & Diversity and Economic Development, Planning & Housing Committees.  Legislator Bergin will also sit on the Education & Labor Committee.

Trish served as Islip Town Councilwoman for the past 12 years, where she worked tirelessly, advocating for her constituents.  Prior to that, Legislator Bergin worked as an award-winning investigative journalist.  Her commitment and dedication to the people of Suffolk County will continue to be of utmost importance.  Trish will bring fresh innovative ideas to County government.

“I am honored to be serving on the committees I have been appointed to.  Economic Development is a substantial part of our responsibilities in government offices.  Creating good paying jobs here in Suffolk County will be one of my top priorities.  I look forward to serving the constituents of the 10th LD,” said Legislator Bergin.
