Uniondale School District ‘Kicks Off’ the School Year at Homecoming

Uniondale High School Welcomes Students, Alumni and Community Members for Homecoming Parade and Football Game.

The Uniondale Union Free School District recently welcomed hundreds of fans, community members and alumni to enjoy the annual Homecoming Parade, football game and halftime show. The day-long celebration began with representatives from all grade levels, accompanied by the Uniondale High School marching band, marching their way to the high school football field.

The parade trail saw students holding banners and marching in order of their respective grade levels and extracurricular activities. The Uniondale Knights varsity football team won Saturday’s home conference game against Hicksville Union Free School District’s by a score of 40-6. At halftime, the high school band and cheerleaders performed and the 2019-2020 Homecoming King and Queen were crowned.

The theme of this years’ Homecoming celebration was “United as One,” putting the emphasis on bringing the Uniondale community together to form a united family. The ceremony and football game provide an opportunity for the community to join together behind fun festivities and school spirit. Homecoming is a tremendous facet of the District’s efforts to encourage the growth of each of its scholars, in school and personally.
