Long Island Walk Raises Nearly $16,600,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research Since Inception

Join others for the annual Lustgarten Walk on Sunday, October 6th! Come out and capture local residents rallying together to fight against pancreatic cancer at Jones Beach State Park—Field 5 in Wantagh. The walk, presented by Northwell Health, and now in its nineteenth year, is the Foundation’s largest walk nationwide, drawing thousands of participants and raising nearly $16,600,000 for pancreatic cancer research since inception.

Pancreatic cancer has a five-year survival rate in the single digits. This year, more than 56,000 cases will be diagnosed, and almost 46,000 people will die from pancreatic cancer in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 3,000 New York residents will die from this disease this year.

In addition to uniting the community in the spirit of hope, 100% of the money raised goes to advancing research aimed at early detection methods, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer.  Registration: starts at 8:30 AM and the walk is at 10:00 AM.
