Seuss On The Loose: Timber Point PE Classes Enjoy Fun PARP Theme

Dr. Seuss was on the loose in physical education classes during this year’s PTA-sponsored Parents as Reading Partners program at East Islip’s Timber Point Elementary School.

Teachers Patricia Bush and Diane Wahrenburg created eight stations based on various Dr. Seuss books. Students had fun fishing at “McElligot’s Pool,” pulling out some red fish and blue fish; worked on spelling numerous rhyming words with “Dr. Seuss’s ABC”; and had a blast as they tried to stack the hat of “The Cat in the Hat.” Assistant Superintendent Paul Manzo stopped by to participate in the activities, trying to flip Spooner balance boards at “The Foot Book” station.

“Reading and fitness go hand in hand at Timber Point,” said Wahrenburg.
