Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, Inc. is a private, not for profit organization providing a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, is launching a major expansion campaign designed to provide funding for a host of infrastructure projects needed across its facilities in Islandia, New York. The campaign using the tagline, “A Race We Will Win,” is currently in planning stages with its official kick-off on Friday, June 7, 2019, during Pal-O-Mine’s annual “Day at the Races,” held at Belmont Park, the day before the Belmont Stakes Triple Crown event.
Pal-O-Mine founder and CEO Lisa Gatti explained the goal of the campaign saying, “The last few years have been especially dynamic for our organization. We have seen tremendous growth in our programs and facilities. We have been very fortunate to have many very loyal and generous contributors who have helped us reach this stage in our growth. Now, we want to reach out to the broader corporate community and general public for their support in helping us provide our vital programs to more individuals with disabilities, as well as our military and their families, adjudicated youth and those who are survivors of trauma.”
The planned expansion program includes various building renovation and system installation projects such as an office expansion; indoor arena improvements; energy-efficient lighting; accessible inclusive playground for humans and horses; new fencing; golf carts or gators for multiple purposes; and roof and window replacements on existing building, among other infrastructure improvements and equipment needs.
“This is, by far, the most ambitious capital improvement campaign we have embarked on since the inception of Pal-O-Mine,” added Gatti. “We are confident that the Long Island community will get behind us as they have over the years as we continue to develop into one of the region’s most relied upon resources for individuals with disabilities and others who can benefit from our equine assisted programs.”
