The Mayor and the Village Board of Trustees recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new municipal parking lot located on the corner of Hoffman Avenue and High Street. The location was previously the site of a burnt-out, old, dilapidated structure, along with two illegal rooming houses. The blighted structures were demolished to make way for the much needed municipal parking lot. The new lot will provide twenty-five spots for the Lindenhurst downtown area which will benefit from the additional parking.
Members of the business community, Village Officials, Suffolk County Legislature Kevin McCaffrey, and Village residents attended the event. Mayor Michael Lavorata said, “It is great that we have provided additional, safe and convenient parking that will help the continuing revitalization of our Lindenhurst downtown.”
