New Look for Copiague Schools

After almost two years of construction and renovations throughout many of its schools, Copiague School District opened its doors for the start of the 2018-2019 school year on September 5th.

For the first time, students at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School walked into their new entrance on the first day of school, as the schools were divided into two separate buildings during construction.

At Deauville Gardens West Elementary School, the students were greeted by their new principal, Kristina Biamonte, as they explored their new classrooms and connected with friends.

Incoming sixth-graders and freshmen explored their new buildings prior to the start of the school during their respective orientations.

Students received their schedules and tried out their lockers to help ease the transition to a new school.

At Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School, which also received an updated exterior look, students spent the day exploring some of the new amenities at the school, such as a new electronic music laboratory, ceramics room, science lab and auditorium renovation.

As the first week of school ended, the students eased into their new schedules and routines in preparation for a productive school year.
