Young musicians from the Massapequa School District recently performed at a pair of holiday events in the community.
The East Lake Elementary School Bell Choir, the McKenna Elementary School fifth-grade orchestra and the Massapequa High School Chamber Ensemble took part in Massapequa’s Park Holiday Open House at Village Hall on Dec. 2. They performed
music while community members celebrated the start of the holiday season and visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Berner Middle School sixth-grade Early Morning Risers Chorus, under the direction of Kathleen Dyckman, performed on Dec. 8 at the annual Christmas tree and Menorah lighting at Klestinec Park on Broadway in Massapequa. Songs such as “The Spirit of the Season,” “Christmas Rush” and “Celebrating Hanukkah” warmed the hearts of those watching on the chilly evening.
