The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the Long Island State Park Region will host its 25th annual Winter Run Series beginning January 2019.
The series will begin Sunday, January 6 at Heckscher State Park. Additional runs will be held January 13 at Robert Moses State Park, January 20 at Sunken Meadow State Park, and January 27 at Jones Beach State Park. All races are themed, 5K in length, and will start at 11 a.m.
Registration is open for full series signups. There are three ways to register: in-person at the Long Island State Park Headquarters, located on Belmont Avenue at Exit 37N off the Southern State Parkway from 9AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday; by mailing an application along with payment in the form of check or money order to Winter Run Series, PO Box 247, Babylon, NY 11702; or online, for a small fee at www.flrrt.com. Full Series Registration will close when the maximum amount of 1,100 registrants is reached.
The entry fee for full series registration is $40.00 and day-of-race registration is $15.00 per race. Day- of-race registration is accepted in-person at each race or online, for a small fee, beginning the Monday prior to each race.
