Long Island Craft Beer Scene is One of the Strongest in the State
“With over 440 breweries in New York, the New York Craft Brewers Festivals have been a great way to showcase breweries from every region of the state all in one location with the brewers and owners pouring the beer, not volunteers. This year we have 60 coming to the Belmont Racetrack in Elmont,” said Paul Leone, executive director of the New York State Brewers Association. “These festivals have been hugely successful upstate and we thought it was time to finally have a presence on Long Island where the craft beer scene is one of the strongest in the state.”
The event will bring several New York breweries “down state” to Long Island for the first time. Long Island beer enthusiasts are in for a rare and wonderful treat as they sample beers never before served at a local beer festival, included among them: Prison City Brewery (Auburn, NY); Resurgence Brewing Company (Buffalo, NY);Wagner Valley Brewing Co. (Lodi, NY); Bolton Landing Brewing Company (Bolton Landing, NY); C.H. Evans Brewing Company (Albany, NY); Rushing Duck Brewing Co.(Chester, NY); Binghampton Brewing Co. (Binghampton, NY) and Threes Brewing(Brooklyn, NY).
With $5.25 million on the line, the best three-year-old turf runners in the world will compete in the Turf Trinity and Turf Tiara as part of New York Racing Association’s inaugural Turf Triple Series, broadcast on NBC and FOX Sports. Festival attendees can watch the final legs of the Turf Triple Series live, with trackside viewing, while attending the beer festival. The festival will also include local food trucks offering a variety of street food for sale, live thoroughbred racing, and convenient betting windows for those feeling lucky.
The New York Craft Brewers Festival will offer two ticket options, VIP ($75): 1:30-6:00pm and GA ($55): 2:30-6:00pm, each includes unlimited 3 oz. beer tastings. The VIP ticket experience also includes a special-edition souvenir 7oz. glass taster and a bonus hour early admission to meet and greet brewers. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. Food is available for purchase from a variety of local food trucks. Designated driver tickets are also available for $10 each. No one under 21, including designated drivers, will be admitted and photo ID is required for entry. Parking is $3.00 per car.
