Legislator Tom Donnelly Congratulates Police Explorers For Their Commitment to Community

Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Huntington Station) greeted members of the Police Explorers unit of the First Precinct Suffolk County Police Department at a recent open house at the Deer Park Fire Department.

The Suffolk County Police Explorer program provides positive experiences to help young people mature, make proper decisions, and become responsible adults. It is available in all seven Suffolk County Police Department precincts. The program is open to youngsters between the ages of 14 and 20.

Legislator Donnelly congratulated the Explorers for their participation in the program. “This dedicated young group of boys and girls are learning the basics of police work while at the same time serving their community,” he said. “I applaud and thank them for their service.”
