Jovia Financial Credit Union Gets In Tune With LI Music Hall Of Fame

As the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Tour Bus crisscrosses the island taking people on a journey through music history, Jovia Financial Credit Union will be along for the ride as the title sponsor of the mobile music museum.

The newly named Jovia (formerly NEFCU) has inked a three-year deal with the Long Island Music Hall of Fame to be the presenting sponsor of the 38-foot tour bus that educates and celebrates the rich music heritage of Long Island.  The bus will make appearances at area schools, community locales and venues throughout the year.

The current engaging exhibit “On the Record” spotlights albums and performances of the area’s musical luminaries – including Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Louis Armstrong, LL Cool J and The Ramones – who have been inducted into the local Hall of Fame.  The Long Island Music Hall of Fame pays tribute to the music of Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

“By showcasing this fascinating heritage directly to children, teens and adults of all ages, we’re educating as well as entertaining thousands of Long Islanders throughout the year,” said Valerie Garguilo, vice president of marketing and community relations at Jovia.  “Given the rich history of music that has been spawned and developed on Long Island, this tour bus is essential to opening people’s eyes and ears to the phenomenal contributions we’ve made to rock, jazz, pop, rap, classical and other musical genres.”

“Our mission is to celebrate the rich music heritage of Long Island and support music education for future generations.  This bus is an exciting new part of our education programming and we are proud to share it with the public, and are grateful to Jovia for supporting our vision,” explained Ernie Canadeo, chairman of The Long Island Music Hall of Fame Board.
