Iconic Pink Ribbon Bagel Returns To Panera Bread In October

Proceeds During the Month of October to Support the American Cancer Society; 100 Percent of Proceeds to Benefit the Organization on Friday, October 4.

Panera Bread, makers of delicious bread items, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and more, today announced that its Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign will return to menus at participating bakery-café locations throughout Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shaped in the form of the iconic pink ribbon and baked fresh each morning by Panera’s bakers, the cherry-vanilla bagel features cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar – a perfect mix of flavors for the fall season.

Throughout the month-long campaign, Panera Bread will donate a portion of the proceeds from its Pink Ribbon Bagel to the American Cancer Society. Additionally, on Friday, October 4, Panera Bread will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of its Pink Ribbon Bagel to the cause. The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of 1.5 million volunteers dedicated to saving lives, celebrating lives and leading the fight for a world without cancer.

“We are proud to continue to be involved in the fight against cancer by bringing back Panera Bread’s Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign this year,” said Greg George, vice-president of operations for quick casual and specialty concepts, Doherty Enterprises. “We are honored to partner with The American Cancer Society to help fund breakthrough research and fight cancer from every angle. We look forward to raising awareness and funds for another successful year. We encourage our guests to enjoy this bakery favorite throughout the month of October.”

In an effort to build awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research, Panera Bread offers guests the opportunity to pre-order Pink Ribbon Bagels. This allows Panera Bread to fulfill the demand for Pink Ribbon Bagels while maximizing the amount raised for organizations like The American Cancer Society.
