Free Colon Cancer Education Event

Colorectal cancer is the leading cause of death in the US –but it is preventable with early screening and managing one’s risk factors.  The Dolan Center sponsored by the Northwell Health Cancer Institute and Katz Institute for Women’s Health, will host a free public education event on Thursday, September 19 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at 284 Pulaski Road in Greenlawn, for community members to learn more about reducing their risk for colorectal cancer.

Held at The Dolan Center, the seminar, “Everything you need to know about colorectal cancer: prevention, screening and treatment,” will cover the following topics:  risk factors for colorectal cancer; genetics, screenings and guidelines, the latest diagnostic and treatment options, research about early onset cancer, and tips about nutrition and diet.
