A national survey conducted by Forbes magazine has ranked Long Island’s NEFCU among the top three credit unions in New York State based on member satisfaction and recommendation scores.
The Westbury-based NEFCU was the only Long Island area credit union that made the magazine’s second annual “America’s Best Credit Unions In Each State” list. A total of five New York State credit unions were included in the national rankings; the other four are located in Upstate New York.
Overall, 182 credit unions across the country qualified for the final list, based on their overall scores. The results were announced by the magazine this past month.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 25,000 people about their banking relationships. Consumers rated their specific credit union on overall recommendation and satisfaction, as well as how they fared in such subdimensions as trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice.
“We are incredibly excited to receive this accolade. It gives us great pride to know that we’re succeeding in making NEFCU one of the most member-focused credit unions in the country,” said John Deieso, the credit union’s CEO. “This is proof positive that we’re doing the right things for our members, and that all of our latest innovations, services, and product introductions are elevating the entire member experience.”
This is not the first time NEFCU has been recognized for its efforts. Last year, it was ranked as the #1 credit union in New York State by the independent research firm Callahan & Associates, which measured all aspects of a member’s relationship with their credit union.
